Find A 1 Year After Maria Action

The Trump Administration has consistently failed the people of Puerto Rico, from providing inadequate funds for relief and reconstruction of Puerto Rico to rebuilding its power grid and infrastructure following Hurricane Maria. Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is calling out the liar-in-chief and his enablers who are trying to rewrite history by denying the extent of devastation, number of lives lost, and their own inadequate emergency response.

Reminder! Today, Thursday, September 20, and on Saturday, September 22, people from all over the U.S. will gather to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Maria’s devastation of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. For more info. see:

Tell Your Senators to Cosponsor Sen. Bernie Sanders’
The Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands Equitable Rebuild Act

Support PDA with a generous gift

Meanwhile, the administration transferred nearly $10 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportations and detention centers. FEMA only approved 75 requests for funeral assistance from Puerto Rican families after María, despite 2,431 requests for help, BuzzFeed News reports.

Stand with our brothers and sisters who have been suffering and dying from Trumpublican neglect and incompetence. Call your Senators and ask them to co-sponsor Bernie Sanders’ S.2165, The Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands Equitable Rebuild Act. Click here to find their office phone numbers.

Then, make sure to vote for and volunteer to elect candidates who have championed help for hurricane-devastated areas. Work to defeat all those who have exacerbated these deadly tragedies through their inaction and indifference—including by climate denial and neoliberal dithering. give generously to PDA’s Win 2018 Acrion Fund.
