Her husband, Andrew, is a frequent political contributor to Harper’s Magazine. Her late brother-in-law, Alexander, was a celebrated radical, writing for the Nation and the Village Voice before founding Counterpunch. Another brother-in-law, Patrick, is perhaps the pre-eminent English-language journalist in the Middle East.

A great journalist knows how to listen intently, and Leslie has brought that ability to her campaign. She has toured the district endlessly, learning about the concerns of the people, and the people responded. Leslie is a strong candidate and with your help she could turn a red seat blue. Both RealClearPolitics and 538.com are calling this one a toss up—even though Trump won there by 11 points—making this one of the Democrats greatest potential pick-ups.
