Tell Trump Not To Pardon Arpaio

Ridding the administration of one racist influence by firing Steve Brannon is not enough to obscure plans Donald Trump has made public to pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  Trump plans to travel to Phoenix on Tuesday, August 22, to hold a campaign-style rally during which sources say he plans to make a very public spectacle of the pardon.

Wait.  The former sheriff and prominent Trump supporter needs a pardon? Sure thing.  Arpaio was convicted just last year of criminal contempt after he defied court orders to cease his racial profiling and cease the rounding up of people he profiled for possible immigration concerns.  Let’s be clear.  Arpaio targeted people based on race, rounded them up and ignored federal court orders to stop.  Trump seems to value the loyalty Arpaio showed for him beyond the freedom, safety and lives of those Arpaio profiled or the Arizona citizens who fought long and hard to see the law-breaking Sheriff held to account.  Trumps pardons racism, if and when he pardons Arpaio on Tuesday.

PDA will be front and center calling out these two white men who abuse their power to protect other white men.  Arpaio also joined Trump in his attacks on the validity of Barrack Obama’s birth certificate.  Trump and Arpaio are two peas in a pod.  Arizonans have already spoken up through many city and state officials asking Trump to stay away from Phoenix in the wake of Charlottesville and rethink his plans for the pardon.  So far, Trump doesn’t care about those requests, those officials or the people of Arizona betrayed by a sheriff who thought himself above the law.
