Meet PDA-Endorsed Congressional Candidate David Palmer (IL-13) and Participate in a Roundtable Discussion on How Progressives Should Respond to the January 6 Committee Hearings

David Palmer is running to represent the new Illinois’ 13th District that includes parts of Champaign, Decatur, Springfield, and Edwardsville, Alton, and Belleville in the Metro East area. A proud progressive with a great chance of winning his primary on June 28th, David Palmer is rooted in the IL-13 district and will advocate for all of the district’s diverse inhabitants.

David will be our featured guest in the first hour of this Sunday’s PDA Progressive Town Hall. Join us and learn about this great candidate for Congress.

Then in the 2nd hour we will feature an open-ended discussion of how progressives should respond to the explosive findings of the January 6th Committee hearings—in order to best protect American democracy.

We, at PDA, believe what the hearings have confirmed: the Trumpian wing of the GOP is a proto-fascist political formation opposed to a democratic society. Yet, the Democratic Party, led by its “moderate” pro-corporate wing, is seemingly unable to protect our constitutional republic from this mortal threat—as it is poised to lose the midterm elections to the GOP.

We’ll ask that all important question: what is to be done?
