First, we thank you so much if you were active with us over the past week. Your efforts are vital as we attempt to turn this ship around.
While much Musk, Trump, MAGA, and Project 2025 insanity continued over the week, we had very good news with millions hitting the streets at over 1,300 Hands Off! events across the country and in every state last Saturday. We are proud to have been a part of the coalition effort, and hope you were able to attend one.
Keep your eyes peeled on your in box for mare actions around the Congressional recess and more, leading up to another massive series of events on May 1.
On the phones, at the doors, in the streets, in the suites, on social media and at the ballot box, we’re organizing, neighborhood by neighborhood, to build the movement required to bring about real change, and keep our endangered communities safe.
Please join us as we continue to work to bring peace and justice for all via progressive campaigns.

I am not always able to attend the weekly zoom town hall meetings. I looked forward to seeing them on Youtube later. However, I can no longer find them on Youtube. I am wondering what happened.
I tuned in to the April 13 PDA presentation today. I agreed with most of what the moderator presented, but began to have the feeling that this was all that would be happening: one person describing horror stories about what Trump and Republicans are doing. I’m sure it was well-meant, but all of that is available from other sources: newspaper, YouTube channels, and sites devoted to viewpoints and principles the same as PDA. I switched off after ten minutes because nothing new was being said. It was a lecture designed to describe bad things happening, and at the end, probably a request for money.
What I think would be more helpful is to at some point ask each attendee to speak for a minute or two about what really bothers them about our national crisis. This would allow at least brief participation by the attendees, with a chance to speak about what their true feelings are. They may not have much chance to state their feelings to anyone d about the current administration. Putting their feelings into words I think would strengthen their commitment, as well as encourage others to hear what attendees are thinking and feeling, rather only hearing the leader reciting terrible things. I’m not suggesting an exchange, debate, or discussion, but simply letting participants express something beyond their passive willingness to hear someone else saying what’s happening.
Also, you might arrange breakout rooms so that four or five people would be able to talk to each other without fear of contradiction or resistance. Typically, this arrangement ends with the whole group re-convening, with a member from each group summarizing what was discussed and decided. Becoming active is more desirable for PDA than staying passive, but that seems to be the model.
