Progressive Democrats of America proudly endorses Vincent Fort for the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 13th District. 

As a multi-term State Senator, Vincent Fort has been one of the most prominent progressives in Georgia politics this century. Senator Fort has fought tirelessly on behalf of the people for racial, social, environmental, and economic justice. 

His former Senate district overlaps with the 13th congressional district. A community-oriented public servant, Vincent Fort knows the people of the district and their needs. His progressive politics are an outgrowth of their concerns.

Senator Fort is running to unseat a multi-term incumbent, the conservative “New Democrat” David Scott.  Thus, this race represents a great opportunity to replace a neoliberal incumbent with an exemplary progressive—one who supports Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, a human rights-based foreign policy, and economic policies that prioritize the needs of poor, working, and middle class Americans.

On top of all of that, Vincent Fort is a brilliant scholar. He taught African-American history at Morehouse College. His is a voice we need in Congress: where he can shoot down the ahistorical, or outright fictional, nonsense so often espoused by reactionaries with historical facts and wisdom; where he can help lead the ongoing struggle to overcome the structural racism that has plagued our country since its founding.
