Progressive Democrats of America calls on the Biden Administration to use its leverage to demand Israel comply with Hamas’ proposal for an immediate ceasefire. We appeal to President Biden and Congress to halt weapons sales to the Israeli Defense Forces, end taxpayer support for the Israeli military, withdraw recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and support Congresswoman Betty McCollum’s bill H.R. 2590 to condition aid to Israel.

Just as we cannot abide by white supremacists storming our Capitol on January 6th, we cannot support Israeli ethno-nationalists treating Palestinians as second class citizens in their homeland. 

We deplore violence, whether it be perpetrated by the Israeli military bombing apartment buildings and news offices in Gaza or Hamas firing rockets into Israel to protest Israel’s forced expulsions of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.

In the words of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, “The US must stop being an apologist for the Netanyahu government.”

We must stand for equal rights for all in Israel Palestine.
