Nina Turner, PDA, and the Courage to Change the World

Nina and PDA will Fight On and Win!

It was a rough week. One of the great progressive champions of our time, Nina Turner, lost to a moderate Democrat (funded by reactionary money) in her bid to represent Ohio’s 11th District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

It’s especially rough because Nina Turner is the rare politician with the courage to demand that inequalities and injustices in our society should not only be addressed, but rectified. PDA as an organization exists to lift up and support politicians like Nina Turner.

However, as always, this setback only points the way forward.

The simple  truth is that the American political establishment has no appetite to eliminate the oppressions and injustices that define our society, or the practices that are destroying the planet.

The great news is that both Nina Turner and PDA will emerge from this week ever more committed to the cause of building a progressive movement that will transform our politics.

We’re in it ‘til we win it!

Help PDA transform the Democartic Party into the party that its base of supporters want it to be—a true, progressive people’s party—by becoming a PDA sustainer.

Thanks for anything you can do,

Is PDA’s goal to change the democratic party from with in.? because that seems like a slow walk to nowhere. Is it possible the progressive movement is not understanding the urgency⁉️ I think at this point we should raise our voices and the abilities we have today, starting with “keep it in the ground” this Friday instead of the usual protest in light of the current reports this past Monday which we knew were coming. we need to shut down all pipelines fracking any extraction of oil this will light the fossil fuel companies hair on fire❗️ We’ll get a reaction then. This is the most effective way to get money out of politics.

Hi Maureen, PDA has always used an inside/outside strategy to move the issues in the correct direction.
