Net Neutrality Votes Coming Up!

Apr 4, 2019

In solidarity,  Janis Kay for Alan, Deb, Mike F., Mike H., Dr. Bill, Dan, Kimberly, Bryan, and Shayna—Your PDA National Team

Tell Congress to Cosponsor and
Pass the Save The Internet Act

Help Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) keep the Internet free! Ever since the FCC ignored overwhelming public demands and rescinded the protections we need to keep the Internet open, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have been slowing connection rates (throttling), raising prices, and starting to abuse their power to limit what you can see and do online.

The powerful cable and Internet industry is spreading their money around, buying votes of key Senators. They need to hear from you to remind them that they work for you, not the cable industry. One glaring example, Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) accepted well over $100,000 in campaign contributions from the big online corporations. Now, she’s the only Senate Democrat who has refused to cosponsor the Save The Internet Act.

Worse, Sen. Sinema is collaborating with the industry’s other favorite Senator, Roger Wicker, (R-MS), who chairs the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet to sponsor legislation designed to block Net Neutrality. This is unacceptable! Use our action alert and be sure to share it with all your contacts:

Tell Congress to help enact the Save the Internet Act.

We need this common sense bipartisan legislation—sponsored by Representative Mike Doyle and Senator Ed Markey. Please click here now to tell your Senators and Representative: We Demand That Congress Acts Now To Keep The Internet Free!

The Save The Internet Act would restore the federal Net Neutrality protections that were repealed by the FCC under Chair Ajit Pai. We need to restore these basic standards that guaranteed that Internet service providers such as Verizon and AT&T must treat users and content providers fairly. If enacted, the FCC could not revoke or ignore this law. Please push lawmakers extra hard to pass the Save the Internet Act!

Without a free Internet, our rights to access information and organize effectively are restricted. Without equal protection of our access to information, our ability to seek knowledge and our awareness of government and corporate activities are limited. Without this, our basic constitutional rights to “petition the government for a redress of grievances” are at risk.

Your monthly donation of $50, $20, $10, or $5 gives us the ongoing resources to keep up the fight for Net Neutrality and all of our other priorities. We can only continue our efforts with your support. Please make automatic monthly sustaining gifts or a generous one-time gift now.

P.S. We’re here to help you make progress in your state and locality! If you need help organizing a new PDA chapter or energizing your existing chapter, please contact PDA Field Coordinator Dan O’Neal. Join the PDA Phone Team making easy, effective calls from your own home with Mike “Phone Guy” Fox. Also please pitch in $1000, $100, or whatever you can afford to support our action alerts.
