Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) celebrated Earth Day on April 22, but our work for the environment never stops. Join us welcoming Rep Tulsi Gabbard (D, HI-02), the author and original sponsor of the Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future (OFF) Act, to Denver, Colorado.

If you cannot attend, please consider making a generous donation to help PDA secure more co-sponsors for this critical piece of legislation. Individuals and PDA chapters donating $100 or more will be thanked publicly at the event.

PDA was instrumental in the early work around Tulsi’s OFF Act. This legislation will remove subsidies for climate warming carbon energy, and move incentives to promote solar, wind, and other clean, safe sustainable energy. When it becomes law, we will be much more aggressively moving toward 100 percent renewable energy.

While you read this email, glacial ice in the Arctic and Antarctica is melting faster than expected, increasing the amount of fresh water in the oceans. This fresh water is warmer than the saline-laden water and sits on the surface, forcing the saltier water deeper, accelerating ice melt and slowing ocean currents, creating a feedback loop and altering climate patterns worldwide.

As the Trumpublican regime moves to obliterate environmental regulations and protections, we must rise together and address the climate emergency and defend the environment in every possible way. Throughout the nation, PDA and allied organizations are working to secure additional co-sponsors to the OFF Act. To date, 33 Democrats have risen to this challenge. Tell your member of Congress to co-sponsor HR 3671.

It isn’t luck that will protect and enhance our world and make it healthy and safe from man-made damage and destruction. Caring for the planet is more than leftie talk or hippie drivel. This planet—our planet—ties us all together and could be the human family’s greatest endeavor. Join us in Denver on Saturday, April 28 and consider springing for $100 special reception tickets.
