Medicare For All Monday!
By Donna Smith, Executive Director – Progressive Democrats of America
With considerable difficulty, we are moving beyond our anger over the injustice of the Kavanaugh appointment. Progressive Democrats of America is stepping up our struggle for #HealthcareJustice and making progress toward #SinglePayer expanded and improved #MedicareForAll #Medicare4All #mfa #m4a.
Your monthly donation of $20.18, $12, $10, or $5 gives us the ongoing resources to keep up the fight for healthcare as a human right. We can only continue with your support. To keep up our efforts, we need your help now! Election Day is barely four weeks away. We can help Medicare for All candidates win!
This PDA #MedicareMonday, we’re focusing on US House Medicare for All Caucus co-founder Rep. Pramila Jayapal WA-7. She has suggested new language that she believes would reconcile the mostly technical differences between the gold standard HR676 and S1804 the two National Medicare for All bills. Click here to support Rep. Jayapal and PDA.
While this has promoted debate within the movement, it no doubt gives candidates across the country further delineation as to better define their positions as we move into the early voting and traditional GOTV (Get Out The Vote) efforts to win seats in the midterms. Will we elect more Medicare For All Senators and Representatives? We’ll work to make it so, and find out on November 6th.
PDAmerica Healthcare Human Rights (HCHR) activists and PDAction Issue Organizing Team (IOT) members continue to raise awareness every day in canvassing, town halls and movie showings, and by telephone and video conferencing to further refine our message and gather more and more momentum for our movement.
Our next PDAction HCHR IOT monthly national conference call which will take place this Wednesday October 10th at 9P Eastern / 6P Pacific, you can get the dial in info here.
Please sign up for future Healthcare Human Rights announcements here. Scroll down and check the box. Please join us for these important calls to offer reports on this effort from your own community and state, and help PDA National to better define our policy moving forward.
The larger movement for Universal Healthcare which must result in ALL the people getting ALL of the care, we at PDA know will only be achieved when the corporate welfare of big insurance and big pharma are eliminated in favor of Healthcare directed by of and for we the people.
As all of us at PDA know and Dr. King told us, “Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable. Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle.…”
If you can give $5 per month, that’s great! $10? Wonderful! $25? Spectacular! Whatever is good for you is great for us. Thanks so much for anything you can do right now to help us reach our magic 100 new monthly sustainers goal.
