RSVP For Next Healthcare Emergency Town Hall Sunday, Oct. 11, 4pm ET/1pm PT

More shock and awe this week due to #pandemic2020. The world is up another 2 million known cases of #COVID19, over 34 million now, and over 1 million dead. And here in the U.S., while new COVID-19 deaths this week doubled last week’s increase, we have been caught quite literally with our masks down by the recent revelation that our mask-denier-in-chief has tested COVID positive, as well as has a significant number of his West Wing and campaign staff. For most humans, this might be a humbling experience. No American could expect that of this White House.

Nonetheless, it should bring into sharp focus how we, the richest country in the world, have performed so poorly in Healthcare outcomes more generally as well as with COVID-19. Why does our commercial interests first-and-foremost system of healthcare financing leave us so poorly able to prioritize the resources needed to deal with these public health challenges?

Once again we’re asking, where is the leadership to put the systems into place that provide and prioritize the resources needed to deal with this existential threat? Where is the leadership, not just from a woefully inept, corrupt, immoral, and disingenuous White House, but from our own Congress, our own Democratically controlled House of Representatives, our own state houses, some of whom have so-called “Democratic supermajorities” and are still failing to take action to protect our people?

And how about our local leaders and candidates? Do they “get it” that #MedicareForAll and the #GreenNewDeal will save money for our cities, counties, and school districts, and will save lives, hundreds of thousands of lives? They certainly should by now.

Amidst the continued shock and awe of COVID-19, help PDA fight for Medicare for All and #HealthcareJustice, and the candidates who “get it.”

Please join us for our next Healthcare Emergency Town Hall Sunday, Oct. 11 at 4pm ET/1pm PT (RSVP to receive secure link here).  Can’t make the town hall but want to help?  Let us know

In the meantime, please support our efforts to help these PDA-endorsed candidates who “get” how MFA will save money and save lives.

Finally, please support PDA with any donation that you can give for this ongoing work.

PS: In case you missed it, here’s the recording of 10/04 Healthcare Emergency Town Hall.  Amazing analysis from Professor Robert Pollin and more!
