Sign the Climate Voter Pledge

Since our founding in 2004, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) has been organizing to halt the Climate Emergency. We’re working with our allies Climate Hawks Vote advancing the following message: Climate change takes and alters lives, displaces people from their homes, and is one of the costliest challenges in world history.

Hurricane Matthew decimated the island nation of Haiti, taking nearly 1,000 lives. Then, the storm made landfall in the U.S. and it is projected to cause up to $6 Billion in damages. Matthew’s record atmospheric moisture, rainfall, flooding and storm tides, and sea level rise, are consistent with the effects of climate change.

Addressing the climate emergency will require a World War Two-level mobilization. Such a response will only be possible with Congressional support: lawmakers at all levels of government who see the threat, and have he political valor to take action. There are currently 182 climate deniers in Congress, and one of the candidates for President believes that climate change is a hoax created by the Chinese. This is unacceptable.
