Demand Full Equality For Women Now!
Tell Congress to Lift the ERA Time Limit

PDA’s work for women’s rights will continue until we reach full equality. It took far too long for America to recognize basic women’s rights—to vote, own property, secure credit, attend college, work in their chosen field, and more, and it’s taken far too long to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).

The ERA guarantees equal rights under law regardless of sex, and PDA has been on the forefront of the “Three States” ERA Ratification effort. We were among the first national organizations to endorse the effort to lift the arbitrary deadline from the ERA via joint Congressional resolution, allowing final ratification upon the affirmative vote of 38 states.

PDA helped recruit lead sponsors and cosponsors for the joint resolutions in Congress, and we helped achieve ratification in Illinois and Nevada. We’re currently organizing with allies in Virginia to make the Old Dominion the 38th state to ratify the ERA this term, to finally achieve our goal! Together, we’ve accomplished so much, but there’s much more work to do.
