No Unity Without Justice: Hold Trump and His Enablers
Accountable for Their Actions

“If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell.” ― Carl Sandburg, four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and journalist.

And so, on the first day of Donald Trump’s historic second impeachment trial, the Democratic impeachment managers presented a compelling case of both facts and law, while Trump’s lawyers pounded the table and yelled, sometimes rambling to the point of incoherence. At the end of the day, the roll call vote on the constitutionality of the trial was 56-44, with six Republicans all 50 Democrats voting “Yea.” The trial will continue.

Trump is on trial for inciting an insurrection against the U.S. government in order to subvert the results of a free and fair election. Make no mistake: the attack on January 6 was a prelude to attempts to replace our democratic process with authoritarian mob rule.

Donald Trump must be held accountable. Contact your Senators and demand that they vote to convict Trump and bar him from seeking future federal office. Then let us know how your calls were received.

Trump’s Republican enablers must be held equally accountable. Contact your Representative and urge them to support and cosponsor Rep. Cori Bush’s H.Res.25, to investigate, sanction, and expel members of Congress who voted against certifying the election and otherwise aided and abetted the former president in his quest to remain in power by any means necessary, including violent insurrection.

PDA supports heroic progressives like Cori Bush. We know there can be no unity without justice, and there can be no justice without accountability. Help us maintain and expand our efforts to defend democracy of, by, and for all the people.

I just re-read the US Constitution, Article 1, Section3 re: impeachment of a US President.
The word “President” is in caps implying a sitting President and nowhere does it discuss impeaching a FORMER President, only discusses impeaching a SITTING President or other SITTING office holder.

You liberals seem to lack any understanding of READING COMPREHENSION! How in Hell could a person with a working brain interpret Article 1, Section 3 in such a twisted and perverse way to mean otherwise and to think that it includes impeaching a FORMER President. Article 1, Section 3 also discusses removing a President from office…how can you remove a FORMER President from an office he no longer holds?

It took me a long time to decide whether or not to comment on this subject on a Liberal website since I seriously your critical thinking processes…you people are quite simply seeking REVENGE for a President you have hated even before his election to office…very petty people, indeed!

When Donald Trump was impeached, he was the sitting President. The trial is not limited by his term of office, according to precedent and scores of constitutional scholars.
