Dreamers Action Update

Dreamers will not be pawns for political maneuvering in the Washington D.C. Belt Way. This is not  a game, real lives are at stake here. 800,000 DACA recipients should not be used by Trump, the Republicans or Democrat like Schumer and Pelosi. We demand that Congress pass a clean Dream Act bill without any add-ons that divide and punish people and Trump must sign it.
We agree with Arizona State University Dreamer activist Belen Sisa referring to the Trump, Schumer, Pelosi “agreement” meeting at the White House,
“Why would we need that when there is a perfectly clean bill, the Dream Act, sitting on the Senate floor that would provide a pathway to citizenship? It would be great if Democrats could stop cutting deals without us in the room.”
We also agree we Adrian Reyna, Director of Membership at United We Dream, in his recent statement, “Today our drive to pass a clean Dream Act remains steady. Our leaders went to Congress and demanded they pass a clean Dream Act without dangerous add-ons to hurt our families — including those living in border communities. We call on both Republicans and Democrats to ditch the idea that one group of immigrants must endure more pain in order to provide another group with the freedom they deserve. The immigrant youth whose lives are at stake say YES to a clean Dream Act and NO to more pain.”

Help A Dreamer With An Expensive Renewal Fee
Many Dreamers have until Oct 5th to renew their DACA application and pay the $500 fee. This is a real hardship on many young people. There are several advocacy  organizations that can be trusted and will directly use funds to help those who cannot pay application fees.   Those include United We Dream, and this effort supported by PDA members and others in Arizona.

Let’s show this administration what community looks like.  An injury to one is an injury to all!

In solidarity,
