Regardless of what the government of Israel and Hamas choose to do, we at PDA stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters, our Jewish brothers and sisters, and people of all faiths, or no faith at all, to demand that the human rights and safety of every person must be protected.

We cannot combat the existential threats of environmental calamity, the rise of fascism in the U.S. and around the world, and the need for a more progressive world for all, in general, without first ensuring that everyone, everywhere, can be safe in their homes and in public.

This is especially important right now for our Muslim and Jewish brothers and sisters. History has shown that domestic violence toward both of these populations rises in the United States whenever there’s an uptick in violence in Israel/Palestine. We’ve already seen attacks on Arab-Americans and Jewish-Americans result in injury, death, and psychological trauma.

And the rise in neo-Nazi and just plain Nazi activity in the open, for all to see, is a force of inflammation much more potentially dangerous than in previous Israel/Hamas conflicts.

This must end. Now.
