Florida’s system for restoring a person’s eligibility to vote is broken. And today, May 4th, is the 150 year anniversary of the law that broke it.
If a person is convicted of a felony, they are barred for life from voting. This excludes more than 1.4 million Floridians. These are our family, friends and neighbors who have completed their full sentences, including probation, parole and restitution.
