All eyes are on the presidential primaries—especially Nevada, South Carolina, and of course Super Tuesday on March 3rd. We need to elect strong progressives to Congress. The Texas primary is on Super Tuesday with two great progressives running for the House of Representatives: Mike Siegel and Jessica Cisneros.

Jessica is a 26-year-old activist who has been a staunch advocate for her South Texas community her entire adulthood. Her campaign website explains, “As the daughter of Mexican immigrants and a human rights lawyer, Jessica is fighting to build an America for all of us—no matter who we are, or where we come from.”

Mike is a committed progressive leader. As he explains, “I’ve spent my life in the classroom and the courtroom, fighting to give everyone a fair shot at success. Now, I want to do the same in Congress.” Like Jessica, Mike earned local and national PDA support through his unwavering advocacy for the Green New Deal, Medicare For All, equality, social and economic justice, and the rest of our priorities.

Jessica is running to represent Texas’ 28th District as an unapologetic progressive against Henry Cuellar, perhaps the most conservative Democrat in Congress. Jessica is for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and tuition-free public college. She’s pro-labor, supports a pathway to citizenship, and opposes the NRA. Most of all, she will help progressives repair the damage the Trumpublicans cause—as opposed to Democrats in Name Only (DINOs), like her opponent.

Mike is running to represent Texas’ 10th District on a powerful progressive platform. His primary opponents fall far short on our issues. Mike is a proven vote-winner. In 2018, incumbent Republican Michael McCaul narrowly defeated Mike 51% to 47%. With our help and demographic trends in Texas, Mike can close that gap and win this November—flipping a seat from red to true blue.
