As the Summer heats up, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) asks you to join us going into overdrive for progress. This past week, we convened a webinar on Medicare For All and a conference call on the Climate Emergency.

Our National Field Organizer Shayna Stevens and I went to Netroots Nation in Philly where we organized with our allies in the struggles for Medicare For All (MFA), Student Debt Cancellation, electing progressive candidates, the Climate Emergency, and other top priorities.

Our MFA coalition helped add three more House cosponsors last week, but we need as many cosponsors as we can get! Also last week, PDA Executive Director Alan Minsky traveled to D.C. where he met with dozens of key progressive leaders and joined local D.C. area PDAers for an intimate fundraiser/briefing with special guests Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Medea Benjamin of Code Pink. We continued our work alongside Code Pink to prevent war with Iran, Venezuela, and anywhere else the neocons dream of attacking.

Alan also spoke on a press call with Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and others after PDA helped launch the historic Concurrent Congressional Resolution to declare a Climate Emergency and commit our nation to decisive actions.

We kept up out pressure for Justice Or Bust by condemning Trump’s inhumane, punitive, and bigoted policies only cause human suffering as well as generations of exploitative imperialist policies caused and continue to exacerbate the crisis.

The Student Debt Crisis looms as a dark cloud over our economy. Alan Minsky reports, “Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Ilhan Omar introduced legislation to cancel all outstanding student debt; their bills compliment parallel legislation that would make all public state and community colleges tuition free.”
