We at Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) continue to be concerned that vaccinations for #COVID19 are not getting to our traditionally medically underserved and in particular to our Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) communities for a host of reasons, most of which would be resolved if we had a real public health system like #SinglePayer expanded and improved #MedicareForAll.

When the commercial interests of the U.S. medical industrial complex block supplies, distribution, prioritization, and allocation of all of the critical resources needed, much as they have for COVID-19 test kits, personal protective equipment (PPE), information systems for contact tracing, and the general release of critical anti-viral drug therapies, the end result is what we’ve seen: hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths and avoidable untold human suffering.
