For a White House Conference on Hunger in America

Help PDA Fight Hunger in America
Hunger is reaching epidemic levels in the United States. The crisis was terrible before the COVID-19 pandemic; it’s even worse now.
A staggering one in every six Americans struggles with food insecurity, and one in every five American children—16 million children—struggle with hunger.
One of PDA’s strongest congressional allies, Rep. Jim McGovern (MA-02), is calling for a national White House conference on hunger. In Rep. McGovern’s own words: “Hunger is the silent epidemic, something far too many Americans quietly suffer, too often.”
PDA joins with Rep. McGovern in calling for a national White House conference on hunger.
In order to build momentum for the conference, Rep. McGovern’s office is collecting testimonials from people who have lived experience of facing hunger, using SNAP and other nutrition safety net programs.
Also, please sign Rep. McGovern’s petition calling for the White House Conference on Poverty:
Finally, please contribute to PDA, so that we can continue our work organizing against hunger in America, promoting anti-hunger and anti-poverty legislation—and building support for the first White House conference on hunger in America since 1969.
Thanks so much for anything you can do.
