There are several threats to our voting rights including hacking, voter suppression, partisan and race-based disenfranchisement, and undue influence from wealthy special interests. Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is partnering with our sister organization, People Demanding Action, in the nationwide Reclaim Our Vote Project to overcome these attacks on your right to vote and to have your vote counted as cast. With less than three weeks left before Election Day, we’re working to GOTV (Get Out The Vote) and to protect your voting rights. You can help now!

VOLUNTEER by emailing Mike Fox. He’ll get you signed up to contact registered voters in your state; or, if you live in a state with same day voter registration, you can do double duty helping both to register voters and GOTV.

DONATE to support this historic effort. We must make sure that all voters get to the polls and that they’re allowed to vote—not suppressed or disenfranchised. Also, that all our votes are counted as cast—not hacked or discounted through partisan chicanery!

Of course, one of the reasons it’s so essential for progressives to mobilize voters is because the Republican Party does everything imaginable to suppress the vote. Fortunately, PDA is fighting for democracy, not only by helping people to register and then to vote, but by supporting candidates who defend and extend democratic rights.

Progressive Democrats have introduced and supported legislation to protect democracy, including:

• Constitutional Amendments to overturn Citizens United, McCutcheon, etc.
• Same Day Registration Act – HR 1044 (House) S360 (Senate)
• Democracy Restoration Act – HR 6612 / S1588
• Voter Empowerment Act – HR 12 / S1437
• Protecting American Votes and Elections Act – HR 6093 / S3049
• The Resolution to Automatically Register All Citizens 18 and Older to Vote – HJ Res 28
