Tell The DNC And The News Networks:
We Need Debate Questions About Poverty
Don’t talk about it. Poverty. Homelessness. Hunger. In the wealthiest nation in the history of the Earth, we shouldn’t have to even think about it—much less have to demand discussion about how far too many of our sisters, brothers, and others lack the most basic necessities. But we must make these demands, because otherwise nothing will be done.
After virtual silence on these topics in five rounds of Democratic presidential debates, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) repeat our demands for debate questions focusing on poverty, hunger, homelessness, and the student debt crisis.
Please sign and widely share our petition now. PDA Executive Director Alan Minsky will hand-deliver your signature to the moderators before the next debate in Los Angeles on December 19th. We have just under a week to get the number of signatures as high as possible!

We must act because right now, tens of millions of people are imprisoned by student debt. The Student Debt Crisis looms as a dark cloud over our economy.
The Congress just voted to appropriate obscene levels of funding for weaponry to threaten, destroy, and kill—even to create a new “Space Force” to bring the violent specter of warfare to the heavens above. Trump is issuing new rules to slash nutrition programs—taking food from hungry children’s mouths. Sign and share the petition now!
Meanwhile, the powers that be ignore the man-made plague of poverty. What’s left of the American Dream is dying as generations of Americans are driven into destitution by medical, credit card, and student debt. Act now!
Alan Minsky reports, “Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Ilhan Omar introduced legislation to cancel all outstanding student debt; their bills compliment parallel legislation that would make all public state and community colleges tuition free.”
Alan explains, ”If passed, these bills would solve a massive crisis that has been suffocating the American economy and burdening the lives of 45 million working and middle class Americans.”
