Winning back the House and the Senate is not just a matter of regaining political balance, it is imperative for the very survival of our democracy. Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) was founded in 2004 to uphold basic principles—that every person deserves full equality, respect and decency—including a government and society dedicated to protecting all of our basic human rights.

These rights include Improved Medicare for All, a secure and habitable place to live, education that creates a full range of opportunities, nutrition, a living wage and a safe workplace as well as full collective bargaining rights, retirement with security and honor, a true democracy with accurate elections free from big money or partisan interference, a peaceful planet with a stable climate and well-protected environment, and so much more.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday criticized “judicial activism” and condemned attempts to depose or question senior executive branch officials, including President Donald Trump.

“Simply put, discovery against the President of the United States should not be treated lightly. The man is busy, in case you’d like to know,” Sessions said while speaking to the Heritage Foundation. Sessions added that preparing for a deposition is “a monumental disruption.” “Subjecting the executive branch to this kind of discovery is unacceptable,” he said.

This is utterly outrageous. No person or political party is above the law, yet AG Sessions is arguing that Trump and his regime cannot be challenged no matter what crimes they commit! This is the Brett Kavanaugh doctrine, and with the confirmation of that unqualified extremist to the Supreme Court, nothing stands between the Trumpublicans and authoritarianism except us!

Time is running out! Early voting is about to begin in several states. We must all dig deep and give of our time and money from now until Election Day.
