Join Our Disabilities Issue Organizing Team Call TONIGHT, Wednesday, September 25, 9pm ET/6pm PT

Join us as we discuss issues, legislation, and actions we can all participate in to help make life better for all with disabilities.

Our Featured Speaker this month is Dave Garibaldi.

Dave served the majority of his 37-year career as a public employee and union member. He was always confident in having had great employer-sponsored health insurance. In 1999, he was diagnosed with a vascular disease and prescribed a simple out-patient procedure for treatment. The procedure was denied by his insurance company, resulting in a four-year fight (and delay of care) before they relented.

During the final 20 years of his employment, Dave observed the escalating cost of health insurance and its direct impact on wage increases. In 2016, he became politically involved and a social justice advocate for several causes. Healthcare became a focus in 2017 when he joined Health Care for All Minnesota. Dave currently serves on the board of directors, is co-chair of the Legislative Policy committee, and lobbies state and federal office holders (and candidates) in support of single-payer healthcare finance reform.

He’ll be discussing the boondoggle that is Medicare Advantage (or more accurately, Medicare Disadvantage) and how we address this situation.

We’ll also discuss ways we can can all help get candidates who are fighting the good fight for rights and benefits for all elected.

Join us, and invite a friend!
