The task for today is as simple as it is essential. 

Once you’ve read this email, pick up your phone and call your US House Rep and both of your Senators.  

Tell them it is essential that they stand with the Progressive Caucus and Bernie Sanders to ensure that the Build Back Better Reconciliation and Infrastructure Bills include what the people want and American society needs – a complete $4.1 Trillion package paid for entirely by taxing the wealthy, ending fossil fuel subsidies, and negotiating lower drug prices.

Rumors are circulating that the pharmaceutical lobby, which has spent double the amount of any other industry, is succeeding in “persuading” more Democratic Congress people to do their bidding. Their goal is to rewrite the bill in order to limit Medicare’s ability to negotiate cheaper drug prices for the American people, who currently pay two and half times more than in any other country. This is truly abominable. We cannot allow them to succeed. 

There’s only one way to defeat them: raise our voices, flood their phone lines, let them know they work for us, not the lobbyists.
