Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) and our Advisory Board member Rep. John Conyers are working to save lives by guaranteeing healthcare for everyone as a basic human right. PDA and allies are asking House Democrats to cosponsor all 8 progressive bills in the People’s Platform, including the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act (H.R. 676). Mr. Conyers is the only current member of Congress who voted for Medicare back in 1965, and he’s leading the fight to protect it and expand it.

Mr. Conyers has introduced The Expanded and Improved Medicare Act (H.R. 676) for over a decade, and thanks to our and our allies’ efforts, we currently have more cosponsors than ever before. And for the first time, over 100 members of Congress have signed on as co-sponsors of Rep. John Conyers’ H.R. 676, the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act. But, we still have a tremendous battle and long way to go to achieve true healthcare justice.

As our National Advisory Member Dr. Paul Song wrote recently: “Americans continue to remain underinsured and struggle with decreased access to health care due to unaffordable co-pays and deductibles, while being suffocated by crippling premiums and prescription drug prices. Meanwhile, far too many in Congress from both sides of the aisle refuse to acknowledge that our current health care system is immoral and unjust, and loyally continue to protect the private insurance and pharmaceutical industry at the expense of their own constituents who are being harmed every day.”

We will continue to keep up the pressure until healthcare is finally viewed in the United States as a human right and until we have Medicare for All. But, this is only possible with your help.
