Stand With Dreamers!

This evening in DC, 7 DACA recipients — Erika, Belen, Cata, Hector, Barbara, Li and Juan Carlos — have risked arrest on Capitol Hill demanding that Congress pass a clean Dream Act as part of the year-end spending bill.  As I write this, some have been arrested, and some are still sitting in Senator Schumer’s office, awaiting their fate.  See video here.

Dreamers are refusing to identify themselves – risking deportation – until Congressional leaders confirm that they will block any spending bill without protection for Dreamers.

This is a powerful demand and an unprecented sacrifice from undocumented youth that needs to be amplified across the country!  DACA recipients are calling on us to host solidarity vigils across the country on Sunday, December 17th.

Sign up here to join or host a Sunday vigil.

Over 3 months have passed since the White House repealed DACA, and Congress says there’s no urgency to act by the end of the year. But every day the Dream Act does not pass, undocumented youth are at risk of detention and deportation. Thousands have already lost their work permits, jobs, and sense of safety.

This is the moment to stand firmly with undocumented immigrants who are making a deep sacrifice. We need as many people as possible to show their support.

Will you host or attend a Sunday vigil in support of #OurDream?  Facilitators will help you make sure your event is a success.

Can’t do the event itself but want to help with either an event early next week or by helping push on social media or the phones?  Reply to this email and we’ll get you all set up.

Thanks so much or anything you can do.

On to justice for all Dreamers!

In Solidarity,

Mike Fox for Dan, Donna, Mike H., Janis, Deb, Kimberly, Bryan, Judy, Dr. Bill and the rest of the PDA team
