Undocumented youth were just arrested at the U.S. Capitol for speaking out at the Visitor’s Center to bring attention to the DREAM Act. They took nonviolent direct action in Washington DC, calling on our representatives to provide permanent protection for all undocumented youth before the end of the year.

Here are three things you can do to support this vital effort:.e undocumented youth who are risking detention and deportation by taking nonviolent direct action in support of a Clean DREAM Act:

Step 1: Amplify the actions on social media RIGHT NOW. Follow and share posts with the hashtags #OurDream and #NoDreamNoDeal. Find content at fightforourdream.org.

Step 2: Call your members of congress. Call your representative and senators RIGHT NOW and tell them to vote NO on any year-end spending bill that does not include a clean DREAM Act.  Dial the United States Capitol switchboard at (202224-3121

Step 3: Organize a local solidarity protest. Call some friends, wrangle some folks, make some “No Dream, No Deal” signs, and show up at the office of your member of congress to let them know they should pass the DREAM Act now.  Contact mikefox@pdamerica.org right now and we’ll help you make it happen.

Step 4: Join our emergency organizing call tonight at 8:30pm Eastern, 7:30pm Central, 6:30pm Mountain, 5:30pm Pacific.

For the last two days, hundreds of undocumented youth and allies took the fight for #OurDream to over thirty local congressional offices around the country. We sat-in, protested, and rallied with a simple demand: vote NO on any year-end spending bill that does not include a clean DREAM Act.
Time is running out for us Dreamers. Democrats have a rare opportunity right now to force the DREAM Act into the year-end spending bill or else threaten Republicans with an embarrassing government shutdown.

86% of the public support undocumented youth to live and work in this country. There is no reason not to push hard right now to provide permanent protection for undocumented immigrants like me who were brought to this country as children and who know no other home than the United States. Please join us as we gather at congressional offices across the country in support of these young people and their families who will suffer if we don’t stand up to the Trump regime’s racism and brutality.  Now it’s the Dreamers.  Who will be next to hear a knock on their front door?

We can win this if hundreds of us call in, sit-in, and take strong peaceful actions at offices of Representatives and Senators across the country to demand they make a choice: stand with Dreamers or stand by as 800,000 young, innocent immigrants are deported.

Act now, and then call in TONIGHT! Thurs., Dec 7th 8:30pm Eastern; 7:30pm Central; 6:30pm Mountain; 5:30pm Pacific. Join with undocumented youth who are leading this campaign with a huge coalition of allied organizations. Click here to RSVP, and make your voice heard!

Let’s close out what’s been a rather challenging year with a victory for love, equality, and justice.

In solidarity,
