A long-overdue uprising against police violence is forcing the powers that be to finally listen to anguished and angry cries. Black Lives Matter!

In addition to police brutality, healthcare injustice—endemic and persistent, but newly-exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic—is also killing Black people in our nation.

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) calls on everyone to demand immediate passage of emergency healthcare legislation as well as House Resolution 988, “Condemning all acts of police brutality, racial profiling, and the use of excessive and militarized force throughout the country.”

This resolution—sponsored by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), in whose district the murder took place),Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), and PDA Advisory Board MemberRep. Barbara Lee (D-CA)—has 174 cosponsors so far.
