Help Keep The Momentum Building!

Yesterday, Bernie introduced his Medicare For All (MFA) legislation (S. 1129), and PDA was there! The buzz began at the security check point where people waiting to get into the Dirksen Senate Office Building excitedly discussed Bernie’s bill. The halls on the 5th floor were packed with people waiting to get in. Our own Donna Smith has agreed to help present Bernie’s bill to the public! More on that as soon as we know more.

We’ve been working within a large and powerful coalition to gain support for Medicare For All—both Bernie’s new bill and the House MFA introduced by Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Debbie Dingell—any many were there. PDA allies from National Nursed United, Social Security Works, Our Revolution, PNHP, Public Citizen, Healthcare Now, Labor Campaign for Single Payer, and more joined in the celebratory atmosphere yesterday—before, during and after the event.

The legislation launched with 14 original cosponsors: Senators Baldwin, Blumenthal, Booker, Gillibrand, Harris, Heinrich, Hirono, Leahy, Markey, Merkley, Schatz, Udall, Warren, and Whitehouse. Help us gain more cosponsors. Click here to tell your Senators to cosponsor Bernie’s bill.

This new Medicare For All legislation is just one of many reasons PDA activists voted to endorse Bernie’s campaign last month, and we’re proud to be running the We Want Bernie campaign on his behalf.
