Support DREAMers Now!

Last month, over the holidays, six courageous DREAMers and an ally launched a jail strike and a hunger strike. Tomorrow, Friday, January 26, they will have their day in court. We want to pack the courtroom and the street with supporters. Also, we’re carrying on the struggle nationwide.

• In the DC area, please join the effort! We’re meeting in front of the H. Carl Moultrie Courthouse, 500 Indiana Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001 at 8:45am EST tomorrow (Friday). Closest Metro Stop is Judiciary Square.
• If you’re planning to attend or even if you can’t make it to DC, contact Dan O’Neal at dan@pdamerica.org and he’ll get you involved in actions across the country. If you can do anything to help, please let Dan know.
• If you can’t be active in the street, then call your congressperson and tell them we don’t want any stupid wall. Clean Dream Act! And please help us fund this campaign with a donation now.

It’s been a long struggle to secure safety, peace of mind, and the American Dream for so many. Thanks to efforts like this and the solidarity events we held nation wide we were able to radically influence key senate votes. Just a few weeks ago, we had 3 Senators willing to vote no on any spending bill that didn’t include a clean Dream Act. We had dozens of votes last Friday. After that, we saw a severely disappointing cave in, but we’re not giving up or going away.

We need your help now to push the Congress to enact the Dream Act into law. We expect they’ll be voting again soon.
