Act Now! Rapid COVID-19 Response
Solidarity, Mike Hersh for Alan, Mike F., Dan, Donna, Dr. Bill, Janis, Deb, Bryan, and Kimberly—Your PDA National Team
This horrendous COVID-19 plague is killing people, destroying businesses, and wreaking social havoc. Unless our response quickly and effectively counters these threats, 100,000s more will die and millions more will suffer, leaving our families, nation, and worldwide humanity severely damaged.
It’s not enough to provide stop-gaps and bandaids. Current policy responses fail to do enough to address the crisis, and risk leaving us in a global economic depression, with impoverished institutions incapable of sustaining society.
Nearly every day, we see alarming evidence that our institutions are failing. All too often, those failures cause fatalities—such as the shocking killing of George Floyd at the hands of the police.
Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is working within a large, powerful coalition to demand effective, science and medically based COVID-19 responses. We need your help now! Please take the following actions:
Click Here to tell Congress to include emergency funding for Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and mandate adequate occupational and safety standards to protect healthcare professionals.
We’re horrified at the ongoing oppression of immigrants and asylum seekers. Our immigration policies have long needed fundamental reform.
Even before the COVID-19 outbreak, innocent people including infants and children were suffering and dying in custody.
Now, Trump is escalating his xenophobic attacks on immigrants once again, using Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to terrorize people in hospitals, schools, and their homes.
Click here to tell Congress to defund and abolish ICE, to quickly pass the bipartisan Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, and to end inhumane and deadly abuses against immigrants and asylum-seekers.
Tell Congress To Support The USPS During This Crisis! We need the Post Office to ensure delivery of medications and other necessities, as well as to allow secure, accurate vote-by-mail for primaries and the general election.
Click Here to contact Mike Fox and RSVP for our Emergency Healthcare Town Hall—TOMORROW, Sunday May 31st, 1pm PT, 2pm MT, 3pm CT, 4pm ET. Dr. Bill Honigman and special guests will answer your questions and discuss your concerns.
Click Here to tell Congress that the next emergency response legislation must adequately fund the postal service.
During this crisis, we’re relying on the U.S. Postal Service more than ever for delivery of basic necessities including medications. Even as we make plans for voting-by-mail that will dramatically increase already onerous pressures on the USPS, the Service struggles to cope with absurd, arbitrary pension requirements.
Act now! 46 million Americans are carrying a staggering sum total of 1.7 trillion dollars of student debt. They’re trapped, with no hope of paying off their debt unless Congress steps up to help. Sign the Petition. Tell Congress to Cancel Student Debt.
Can’t make the town hall, but still want to help with our healthcare organizing? Contact us and we’ll keep you busy.
Can’t volunteer? Then pitch in whatever you can to help support our ongoing COVID-19 emergency response, our campaign for Medicare For All, and our mobilizing for other policies we need to promote an equitable economic recovery and to upgrade our healthcare system.
We can’t go back to business as usual after the pandemic crisis is over. We’re organizing now for the Post-COVID-19 world. That’s why PDA supports the comprehensive Green New Deal agenda.
To ensure our immediate and long-term survival, we need the Green New Deal. Help us support policies to create millions of new, highly-paid, sustainable jobs, to build critically-needed infrastructure, to free ourselves from household debt, and to enhance our social safety net.
We need an empowered, progressive mass movement to demand the policies and government responses needed to save lives and rebuild our shattered economy. We need your generous support to get there.
P.S.: We need your support right now to upgrade our tech capacity during the pandemic and beyond. Please support our efforts on behalf of science-based, effective, emergency COVID-19 policies and Medicare For All.
