DREAMers Trump Trump

Call Congress (202)-224-3121 & Say:
“We Need A Clean Dream Act Now”

Every Tuesday, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) recognizes people and even concepts that “Trump Trump.” We call it “Trumps Trump Tuesday.” Today, we recognize DREAMers—those brave, hardworking young people brought to the USA as children. PDA is a member of the Our Dream Campaign. The campaign’s goal is to draw attention to the need for a clean Dream Act to permanently protect 100,000s of undocumented youth without endangering the 11 million other undocumented people living and working in the United States. Help us stand up for the DREAMers! Tell Congress: “We demand a Clean Dream Act.”

Call the US Capitol Switchboard at (202)-224-3121, ask to be connected to your Senators’ and Representative’s offices. Ask to speak to (or leave a voicemail for) the staffer working on Immigration or Judiciary issues. Say you’re their constituent and you expect them to work for and vote for a clean Dream Act. A Clean Dream Act means no useless, expensive wall. No oppressive arrests, harassment, or raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). That means no vindictive punishment of states and localities that protect basic constitutional rights.

Tell Congress to Pass A Clean Dream Act

DREAMers and Allies Protesting

Support The DREAMers

Last Thursday, February 15th, DREAMers and allies began The Walk to Stay Home, a 15-day march from New York City to Washington D.C. The 250-mile journey has been organized by the Seed Project with the support of PDA as part of the #OurDream Campaign. We’re working to deliver food, water and other support to keep the marchers marching. Help PDA support the DREAMer’s March demanding that Congress respect the DREAMers’ Right to Stay Home by passing a Clean Dream Act.

Get Involved With The Walk To Stay Home!

Along the 250 mile journey the Walkers will be stopping to meet with community members at forums, community gatherings, marches, and rallies. The Walkers will be encouraging others to join them, to host speak outs, vigils, rallies, and marches in towns along the route.

If you live in New Jersey, Western PA , Philly, Delaware, Maryland or the D.C. areas, come join the Walk to Stay Home – Route here:  See the schedule here: A Walk to Stay Home – Walk Stops. Contact March Organizer Lucia Allain at lucyallain@gmail.com. In other parts of the country? Contact PDA’s Dan O’Neal at dan@pdamerica.org.

Call the US Capitol Switchboard at (202)-224-3121, ask to be connected to your Senators’ and Representative’s offices. Ask to speak to (or leave a voicemail for) the staffer working on Budget issues. Say you’re their constituent and you expect them to only vote for and work for a clean Dream Act. That means passing the bipartisan compromise to fix the broken immigration system without any side agreements that undermine American values.

“It is time for us, undocumented youth, to once again step out of the shadows and make a simple demand, let us stay home.” said Hector one of the marchers a DACA recipient from Brooklyn. Twenty year-old Haydi, also one of the undocumented march participants is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Rochester said, “I dream of life where a 9-digit number won’t define whether you are worthy of the basic rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Tell Congress that the solution to the current crisis that Trump created is simple: Pass a clean Dream Act Now! A Clean Dream Act means no useless, expensive wall. No oppressive arrests, harassment, or raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and no vindictive punishment of states and localities that protect basic constitutional rights.

Contact Dan O’Neal at dan@pdamerica.org to join the DREAMers Advocacy Team. He’ll send you information about actions in your city or state.

P.S. We need a more progressive Congress, so give generously to help PDA elect progressives to Congress. Joining the Win 2018 Sustainer Team at $20.18 per month—or giving any amount monthly—will help us find and support the next generation of Progressive champions. You’ll barely notice $20.18 (or any other amount) per month. Whatever you can afford to give, your regular contribution will make all the difference!
