Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) was founded in 2004 to fight for a comprehensive progressive agenda including leading the way on stopping global warming. Since then, the Climate Emergency has grown far worse, despite our best efforts. There is some good news, however.

Thanks to your support, we’ve helped persuade 99 House members to cosponsor Rep. Earl Blumenauer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s House Concurrent Resolution (H.Con.Res.52): “Expressing the sense of Congress that there is a climate emergency which demands a massive-scale mobilization to halt, reverse, and address its consequences and causes.” Bernie Sanders sponsored the Senate version, S.Con.Res.22.

Unlike most organizations, PDA employs an “inside / outside” strategy. Many other organizations only work inside power structures, and many others work strictly on the outside. PDA acts as an essential bridge, bringing the passion and urgency of outside organizing into the halls of power.

For example, PDA continues to support and help lead “outside” efforts including mass protests. At the same time, we lead grassroots lobby efforts and outreach to elected officials and the general public.
