Progressive Democrats of America will have a major presence at the Massachusetts Democratic Party's state convention here this weekend.
Not only will PDA be staffing a hospitality and information table at the convention, but the group will have dozens of delegates on the floor of the convention in support of its Healthcare NOT Warfare campaign and of PDA-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Ed O'Reilly.
For the first time since 1984, Sen. Kerry is being challenged--an effort to move the senator to filibuster on Iraq funding and take leadership on single-payer healthcare in the Senate, a challenge O'Reilly has accepted.
“We are truly excited about this coming together of PDA members, supporters and friends at the Democratic state convention,” said PDA's National Director Tim Carpenter, who resides in nearby Florence, MA. “It is a great opportunity to renew old friendships and create new ones, and to advance our progressive goals of ending the occupation in Iraq, instituting universal healthcare, and electing more progressive U.S. representatives and senators.”
