State Coordinators

The position of PDA State Coordinator is an appointed Organizational / Administrative position within PDA's "Field" operations. A State Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the creation, organization and mobilization of a State Coordinating Committee which will be made up of PDA leadership from across the state. The State Coordinating Committee might include chapter leaders, congressional district point people, task force members or other leadership.

The responsibilities of State Coordinating Committee include working directly with the National Field Director and Field Staff and to:

1. Develop New Chapters within the State
2. Help existing PDA Chapters to grow and increase their influence
3. Develop PDA's contacts and organizational influence with other progressive organizations
4. Help to build PDA's database within the State
5. Help to build PDA's sustainer program by finding member who will commit to an on-going monthly contribution
6. Work in cooperation with PDA's designated Congressional District Point People to mobilize their Congressional Districts on particular legislative, advocacy and educational issues

Congressional District Point Person

A Congressional District (CD) Point Person is a PDA grassroots leader who has accepted the responsibility to provide PDA leadership in his/her Congressional District. A CD Point Person will work to educate and mobilize constituents in his/her CD on legislative and advocacy issues and to take the lead on organizing congressional visits, actions and events.

A PDA CD Point Person will coordinate with his/her state's State Coordinator to assure effective communication among Congressional District leadership in the state.
