The Race for the DNC ChairVol. 1, No. 6--December 23, 2004Progressive Democrats of America works to make the Democratic Party respond to the urgings from its populist grassroots base and to focus the energy of the Party on adopting and advancing a more explicitly progressive agenda. We have seen a great deal of movement in this regard at the local level recently and PDA believes an even more significant shift at the national level is possible. One event that would expedite this shift would be the election as DNC Chair of a person who saw the Party's mandate as being to help elect progressives to local office in large numbers and to work toward the ultimate election of a Progressive Congress and a Progressive President. While these goals can be obtained only by citizen activism, hard work, and a fair citizen vote, they would be much facilitated if our Democratic Chair was Howard Dean. Relevant Articles: |
