DEAN FOR DNC CHAIR
01/11/2005
On Wednesday morning, November 3rd, even as George W. Bush was claiming victory, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) launched two bold “fight-back” initiatives:
(1) PDA immediately joined the “Ohio vote count” fight, which led to the historic January 6th challenge by Rep. Conyers, Rep. Tubbs-Jones, Sen. Boxer, and friends; and
(2) PDA launched its own “Draft Dean for DNC Chair” effort along with Grassroots for America and PDA board member Pam Paul who was instrumental in connecting PDA with the Dean netroots and the current Dean staff.

January 3, 2005 -- The Cleveland Federation of Labor is sending busloads of demonstrators to a rally in Columbus, Ohio, today to take part in a protest of election fraud in the 2004 presidential election. As detailed below, there is strong evidence of vote theft in Ohio. But to anyone who gets their news from a television or from most print media, these protesters are kidding themselves or kidding the rest of us, but certainly they are not onto anything worthy of investigation. Last week I received this Email from the Columbus Dispatch:
Push for Election Investigation Intensifies
01/03/2005
Posted Jan. 3, 2005 – Arguing that little has changed since the fiasco in Florida in 2000, several leading activists – including the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (D-Ohio) – will march on Columbus, Ohio Monday, hoping to spark a federal investigation into voting fraud and other alleged irregularities in 2004.
Jackson and his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition and Tubbs-Jones will be joined at the “Pro Democracy Count Every Vote Rally” by the Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) and several other civil rights and voter advocacy groups who are calling for an investigation into malfunctioning voter machines, discarded paper ballots, instances of voter intimidation and other allegations they say add up to the disenfranchisement of scores of voters, largely minorities.

Ex-O.C. resident picks up where Kerry left off
12/13/2004
John Kerry bailed out of Ohio early the morning after the election, calling off his legal team and his election watchers and announcing his concession. But many others continue to question the Ohio ballot tally, with the issue staying alive in part because of former Fullerton resident Tim Carpenter.
Guarantee the Right to Vote

On the eve of the Conyers hearing, the new group Progressive Democrats of America released a well-reasoned list of electoral reforms which can and should become central to the activism of everyone who is dissatisfied with the process--and the result--of the November 2 election.

On the eve of the Conyers hearing, the new group Progressive Democrats of America released a well-reasoned list of electoral reforms which can and should become central to the activism of everyone who is dissatisfied with the process--and the result--of the November 2 election. A Call for a Non-Partisan Recount in Ohio
11/23/2004
The presidential election may have faded from the headlines, but Common Cause remains committed to seeing that every vote cast in the presidential election is counted, and that reforms are enacted to make our voting systems more accurate and secure. That’s why Common Cause earlier this month joined with several groups in supporting a recount request in Ohio by two third-party presidential candidates. Visit the site to read about what is going on and to sign the Petition and learn how you can get involved.
Ohio hearings show massive GOP vote manipulation, but where the hell are the Democrats & John Kerry?
11/17/2004
by Harvey Wasserman - Democracy itself was lynched in Ohio on November 2, by both high and low tech means. Our freedoms may be the ultimate victim. But where is the Democratic Party?
