The Results of PDA’s Vice Presidential Preference Poll Are In!

Senator Elizabeth Warren finished first in PDA’s Vice Presidential poll with almost three times the support of Kamala Harris, who finished in second.

We had a strong response to the poll, which was sent out three times to our national e-mail list over the course of three days this past week. With well over 1,000 responses, the sample size was greater than many national polls. We are not aware of any campaigning that was done on behalf of any of the candidates.

The twelve names listed in the poll were determined by a New York Times article from June 22nd, which reported these twelve women were the final candidates being considered by the Biden campaign.

Here are the final results of PDA’s Vice Presidential poll:

Elizabeth Warren 52%
Kamala Harris 18%
Stacey Abrams 13%
Susan Rice 5%
Val Demings 4%
Karen Bass 3%

None of the other twelve received more than 2% support. For what it’s worth, they finished in this order: Tammy Duckworth, Keisha Lance Bottoms, Tammy Baldwin, Michelle Lujan Grisham, Maggie Hassan, Gina Raimondo.

P.S.: We need your sustained, monthly donations to elect Progressive Democrats to Congress.

I can’t help but wonder how progressives reconcile their votes and enthusiasm for Elizabeth Warren when she takes centrist, main stream positions like endorsing John Hickenlopper for Senate, as she did sometime around June 20th. The most cursory look at Hickenlooper will tell you that he is anything but progressive. By his own admission he considers himself a moderate. Warren’s endorsement of him is despicable and demonstrates that she has NO moral compass. This should not be surprising to anyone who has honestly observed her behavior and tactics since she entered and exited the presidential primary race. It appeared that her final self-serving slap in the face to the progressive movement was her refusal to endorse Sanders. Obviously there is no end to how low she will crawl to claim her personal victory. I am surprised and disappointed that PDA has not called her out on this display of corporate cronyism.
