Help Backbone Campaign Win $50,000

If you've seen or used the Chain Gang, the giant Constitution Preamble, participated in a Thank-N-Spank action, Backbone Award, or a Conversation with the Cabinet, then you're familiar with the Backbone Campaign. They were with us when PDA launched in Roxbury, and they've been with us right down the line.

SixDegrees.org is sponsoring a contest to see which four participating U.S. charities can generate the most individual donations before Jan. 31. The top four each win a $50,000 Prize! Our friends and collaborators at the Backbone Campaign are currently in 7th place and closing in on 6th.

Backbone would use the prize money to send their
Procession for the Future around the country to inspire, educate and train thousands of activists, building visibility for hundreds of local organizations and help grow a national progressive movement that will thrive through and beyond 2008. In other words, if Backbone wins, we all win!
