A great disservice is being done through the censorship of the images of war and its victims. Operation: Shock and Awe will shed light on the horrific injuries of the more than 27,000 Americans and countless Iraqis whose lives have been shattered in Iraq. It’s hard to look at these images. They are violent and disturbing, but the more shocking the better for this purpose. It is hoped these images will produce the same visceral reaction in your Congress member as they surely will in you.
For four and a half years, activists have emailed and lobbied these Representatives and the words appear to have fallen on deaf ears. A picture speaks volumes, so let’s flood Congress with the undeniable reality of their failure to end the Occupation of Iraq.
Note: "Operation: Shock and Awe" was originally developed as part of the Fall Peace Offensive to target Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT02). Coalition partner's include the PDA Genesis Chapter of Utah, Military Families Speak Out of Utah, Mormon's for Equality and Justice, and the Utah Democratic Progressive Caucus.
