Progressive Summit:
Members of the Black Congressional Caucus and the Progressive Caucus, as well as representatives of Dean for America, Grassroots for America, and a host of other progressive organizations will join together for the "Progressive Summit," an important first step in letting those inside the Beltway know that we are not going away and that those working for us inside "the system" know we will remain united in backing their support of progressive issues.
A major component of this Summit will be to discuss the legislative campaigns and candidates we will be supporting in 2005, as well as to further develop PDA's congressional district by congressional district, state by state plan to people our government and legislatures with progressive leadership and thereby change America.
The People's Cabinet:
The "People's Cabinet" is a coordinated effort between PDA and sister organizations, including the Backbone Campaign, WeCount, Code Pink, the Progressive Government Institute, and the Progressive Caucus of the Democratic Party of Utah. "Instant Run Off Voting," (IRV) will be used to elect progressive representatives to the cabinet. This Cabinet will be a large part of our continuing efforts to take back control of our nation from neo-conservative ideologues and selfish corporate interests.
