Launch of PDA Advisory Board

November 8, 2005--Next week, Tim Carpenter and Kevin Spidel will be in Washington, D.C. to launch your National Advisory Board. We have put in a great deal of effort to assure that this movement is advised by those leaders you have faith in and can trust.

Cindy Sheehan will be joining the Board this week –- and will be at our Advisory Board Reception and Fundraiser on November 15 in Washington, D.C. We would like you to join us! It will be a big night for PDA. Board members confirmed to attend include Board Chair Mimi Kennedy, Vice-Chair Joel Segal, Steve Cobble, Acie Byrd, Joe Libertelli, David Swanson, Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr., Rep. Diane Watson, Rep. John Conyers, and Rep. Lynn Woolsey. Reps. Barbara Lee and Jim McGovern will also be there in support.

We will be gathering at the National Democratic Club from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The club is located at 30 Ivy St. SE, not far from the Capitol South Metro station. If you cannot join us, we hope you will support this event by contributing to further the work of PDA.

Please take a minute and order your tickets now for the November 15 fundraiser. If you cannot attend the event, please help us reach our goal of $35,000 so we can move forward with the following campaigns:

  1. Continue to build the PDA Citizens Lobby Campaign we kicked off in Washington, D.C. on September 26 to keep the pressure on Congress to end the occupation of Iraq.
  2. Launch the PDA Voters Bill of Rights Campaign.
  3. Support the PDA DNC Campaign that will begin in Arizona in December.
