1:15-2:45 pm - Guided Dialogue Focusing on our “State Coordinating Committee” Concept
Including discussion of how a State Coordinator can effectively facilitate the creation and maintenance of a statewide Coordinating Committee; who should be on the State Coordinating Committee; possible roles of State Coordinating Committee members (fund raising specialist, media liaison, outreach coordinator, database coordinator, CDPP coordinator, etc); how to build shared leadership; how to support the creation of new chapters in your state; etc.

Including discussion of how to build attendance at your chapter meeting (through email and phone calling); how to run a meeting; how to interrupt behavior that shuts down a meeting; how to maintain interest in between elections; how to build your chapter through coalition building; how to effectively coordinate with your congress member’s office; how to most effectively influence your congressional representative – emails, faxes, personal visits, developing relationships with staffers, etc.

You can fly into DC through Dulles, Reagan, or BWI airports. BWI often has the best rates.
From Dulles, take a shuttle or cab.
From Reagan, take the metro, shuttle, or taxi – metro is a breeze from here.
And from BWI, take the free shuttle to Amtrak and transfer to the Metro at Union Station or take a shuttle or cab. (If three of you come in together, the shuttle is probably the best value.)
If you rent a car you will incur additional daily parking fees. Parking is a challenge so this isn’t recommended.
