Ms. Jeeni Criscenzo has been endorsed by Progressive Democrats of San Diego (PDSD) and national PDA as candidate for the 49th Congressional District in California. Her positions on issues are consistent with the platform of Progressive Democrats of America. She stands for honesty, non-violence and environmental responsibility. Her campaign will not accept contributions from any individual or PAC connected with war mongering, harming the environment or abusing human rights.
Jeeni has been an outspoken opponent of the invasion of Iraq since before the invasion. She organized the Bring Their Buddies Home Vigils as a non-confrontational way of showing people the human cost of war.
Jeeni didn't stop being an activist when she became a candidate. She is currently working with the people of San Diego's back country to oppose SDG&E's proposed high-voltage power lines that would scar the Anza Borrego Desert landscape, and connect to power plants built just three miles south of the border to avoid California's environmental controls. Her support for alternative transportation solutions is congruent with her lifestyle--she doesn't own a car, and gets around by walking, taking public transportation or carpooling.
