Greater Orlando PDA votes to endorse Corbett Kroehler

December 31, 2007, Orlando, FL

On December 15, members of the Greater Orlando PDA chapter, chaired by Bill Calhoun, gathered at the Orlando Downtown Library to vote on a final recommendation for a PDA national endorsement in congressional district 8.

Only two of the six candidates in the Democratic primary sought the PDA endorsement, and one of them-Alan Grayson-withdrew his request at the eleventh hour, leaving only Corbett Kroehler. Not content simply to win by default, Kroehler gave a ten-minute presentation explaining why he can win not just the primary but the general election as well.

Kroehler spoke of the numerous Republicans who are supporting him and said that three have changed their voter registration in order to vote for him in the primary.

He concluded by remarking on the excitement, which continues to build around his campaign, and when Chapter Chairman Bill Calhoun called for the vote it was unanimous.

After the vote was final, several members from Lake County asked that an organizing session be held in their area in early January. Kroehler promised that he would not ignore Lake and Marion counties, as Ric Keller, his opponent has done.
